StudioCanal UK has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming summer horror film, Something in the Water, helmed by Hayley Easton Street, a VFX artist turned filmmaker.
The film follows five women who embark on a journey to the Caribbean for a picturesque wedding. However, their idyllic trip takes a terrifying turn when one of the women is attacked by a shark during a visit to a stunning secluded island. The trailer depicts their panic as they attempt to escape, only to find their boat damaged and sinking, leaving them all vulnerable in the water.

As the sharks circle, it leaves them with no choice but to fight back, the film stars Hiftu Quasem, Lauren Lyle, Natalie Mitson, Nicole Rieko Setsuko, and Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart.
The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: Reunited for a destination wedding, five girlfriends decide to rent a boat to spend the day along the coast. However, when they get stranded in open water, they find themselves in a fight for their lives against circling sharks and Mother Nature.

In what marks a fully female-led production, Hayley Easton Street makes her directorial debut with the film. The screenplay, penned by Cat Clarke, is complemented by Julie Baines‘ production efforts.
Something in the Water will be in UK cinemas July 5, as of yet we don’t have a US release date for this one, but stay tuned.
