With a new full trailer set to arrive on tomorrow (May 20), Universal has whetted appetites with a new teaser for Jurassic World Rebirth—and it doesn’t pull any punches. The footage features a chilling Mosasaurus attack that hints at the film’s aquatic horrors to come. The next chapter in the long-running franchise opens July 2, 2025, and returns to where it all began: the original Jurassic Park research facility.
This seventh entry doesn’t just revisit familiar territory—it expands on it. Directed by Rogue One and Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards, Rebirth is built on a screenplay by Jurassic Park veteran David Koepp, with characters once again drawn from the mind of Michael Crichton.

Set five years after Dominion, the world left behind is less than welcoming for Earth’s prehistoric inhabitants. Dinosaurs now cling to survival in pockets of tropical isolation, where their original ecosystems have been recreated. But these creatures are more than relics—they’re the key to a groundbreaking medical breakthrough.
Scarlett Johansson leads the charge as Zora Bennett, a covert ops specialist assigned to recover DNA from the three largest remaining dinosaur species, each one holding potential for revolutionary drug development. She’s joined by Mahershala Ali as her right-hand man and Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist whose knowledge may prove vital.

But the operation quickly spirals out of control. According to the studio, Johansson’s team collides with a civilian family whose boat was attacked by aquatic predators, stranding everyone on an island hiding a monstrous new threat. One thing’s certain: nobody’s prepared for what’s waiting inland.
“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs,” the synopsis reads. “Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments… The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
The full trailer will be released tomorrow May 20. Until then, you can check out this latest teaser below.
