Netflix have released a new trailer for Bird Box Barcelona, the film expands on the 2018 hit starring Sandra Bullock. The new film stars Mario Casas & Georgina Campbel as they try to protect their family from the demonic entities.
The trailer shows a more sinister threat with the creatures evolving as Sebastian is told “There are worse things than the creatures, these creatures, they are changing.”
Bird Box Barcelona is not a prequel, it’s actually happening at the same time as the events that caused mayhem in the first movie, so we get to see how it effected a different part of the world. That is according to producer Dylan Clark in an interview with Entertainment Weekly he said.
“The events that we see Malorie/Sandra Bullock endure in the original Bird Box are happening at the same time that Sebastian/Mario Casas is going through his journey, being in Barcelona gave us a chance to see how surviving this intense threat in an iconic city poses different challenges.”
