Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth stormed into theaters this week, and it’s not tiptoeing. The sci-fi reboot tore through 82 overseas markets and bagged $171 million internationally, pushing its global debut to a mighty $318 million since Wednesday. In North America, it snapped up $147 million. Gareth Edwards takes the director’s chair for this seventh entry in the franchise, working from a script by Jurassic Park original David Koepp.
This chapter ditches familiar faces for a new lineup, Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, and centers on a covert mission to use dinosaur DNA for pharmaceutical breakthroughs.

Second place goes to Apple’s high-octane F1 the Brad Pitt-led racing saga clocked $56.3 million from 78 international markets in its second weekend and $26 million domestically taking its total to $293 million globally, the film is tracking well, though its $250 million budget means the finish line is still a ways off.
Third on the list is DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon taking another $11 million domestically, and its global total now stands at a whopping $516.9 million.

Disney’s Elio isn’t having the same luck. The animated space adventure brought in $5.7 million domestically this weekend and sits with a $96.8 million global haul after three weekends. Despite warm reviews and positive word of mouth, it’s proving a tough sell. Original animation may be heading into an identity crisis.
At number five, 28 Years Later rounds out the top tier. The horror sequel has managed to hold on despite stiff competition, continuing to draw genre fans and adrenaline junkies. Taking a further $4.6 million this weekend in North America and its global total now stands at $125.8 million.
Meanwhile, a milestone looms large. Disney’s Lilo & Stitch live-action remake has now passed A Minecraft Movie to become 2025’s highest-grossing Hollywood title, climbing to $972.7 million globally.
