Sony Pictures have released the trailer for Dumb Money, it’s a David vs Goliath story from 2021. When amateur traders took on hedge funds giants through trading apps after Wall Street traders applied a short squeeze on the failing GameStop.
Paul Dano plays Keith Gill aka Roaring Kitty a youtuber who’s stock tip become a viral movement. As regular people pushed up the GameStop stock price by 1700% bringing several hedge funds that shorted the stock to it’s knees.

The trailer opens with Gills wife asking how much money they have made today, he answers $5 Million. Followed by Seth Rogan’s hedge fund manager, his wife asking how much he lost today, he answers $1 Billion!
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the story is based on the book The Antisocial Network: The GameStop Short Squeeze And The Ragtag Group Of Amateur Traders That Brought Wall Street To Its Knees by Ben Mezrich.
Dumb Money is due in cinemas in September, you can watch the trailer below.
