Final ‘Nobody 2’ Trailer Sees Bob Odenkirk On a Bloody Vacation

Bob Odenkirk racks up a body count while on vacation in ‘Nobody 2’

Universal has dropped the final trailer for Nobody 2, and Bob Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell is back doing what he does best, turning bloodshed into a family activity. The follow-up to the 2021 surprise hit takes Hutch far from his suburban routine, this time trading cul-de-sac combat for coastal carnage.

Set four years after Hutch singlehandedly dismantled the Russian mob, Nobody 2 finds him deep in debt to the same organization, $30 million and counting. In between “jobs,” he and wife Becca (Connie Nielsen) decide a vacation might be what their fraying family needs. The plan? Sun, sand, and reconnection. The result? Anything but peaceful.

The trailer teases a destination that’s anything but idyllic. The town of Plummerville is run by crooks, with a theme-park mogul (John Ortiz) pulling strings and a corrupt sheriff (Colin Hanks) backing him up. When Hutch crosses paths with local troublemakers, things spiral…fast. Sharon Stone joins the cast as a villain who makes Hutch’s old enemies look tame. As the trailer makes clear, Hutch’s skills are still sharp and very necessary.

The official synopsis reads, Four years after he inadvertently took on the Russian mob, Hutch remains $30 million in debt to the criminal organization and is working it off with an unending string of hits on international thugs. Much as he likes the slam-bang action of his ‘job,’ Hutch and his wife Becca find themselves overworked and drifting apart. So, they decide to take their kids (Gage MunroePaisley Cadorath) on a short getaway with Hutch’s dad (Christopher Lloyd) in tow. When a minor encounter with some town bullies yanks the family into the crosshairs of a corrupt theme-park operator and his shady sheriff, Hutch finds himself the focus of the most unhinged, blood-thirsty crime boss he (or anyone) has ever encountered.

Director Timo Tjahjanto, known for The Night Comes for Us, brings a new energy to the franchise, grittier, bloodier, and even more unhinged. Derek Kolstad, who penned the original, returns as co-writer alongside Aaron Rabin. Producers include Odenkirk himself, along with Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Marc Provissiero, and Braden Aftergood.

Nobody 2 hits theaters on August 15. If the trailer’s anything to go by, this sequel isn’t dialing things down, it’s doubling down. A vacation may have been the goal, but Hutch only knows one kind of getaway: the explosive kind.
