Liam Neeson isn’t putting the brakes on his recent comedy streak. Hot off Paramount’s reboot of The Naked Gun, the actor now headlines Cold Storage, a sci-fi comedy-thriller from Samuel Goldwyn Films that’s slated to hit theaters in 2026. The first teaser has arrived, and it’s brimming with zombie-style mayhem, sarcastic quips, and more than a few exploding bodies.
Directed by Jonny Campbell (Dracula, Westworld) and written by David Koepp, the film adapts Koepp’s 2019 novel of the same name. Neeson is joined on screen by Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell, Sosie Bacon, Vanessa Redgrave, and Lesley Manville, rounding out a cast that mixes veteran gravitas with fresh energy.

The story follows Teacake (Keery) and Naomi (Campbell), employees at a self-storage facility built on a decommissioned U.S. military site. When a deadly parasitic fungus escapes containment, the pair find themselves battling a rapidly mutating organism that transforms victims in spectacularly gruesome fashion. “This place was military storage back in the day,” Keery’s character remarks in the teaser trailer, just before spotting something far stranger: “That fucking deer just took the fucking elevator.”
Enter Neeson as a no-nonsense bioterror operative, drafted in to help contain the outbreak. His patience, however, wears thin fast. At one point, he pointedly asks, “Could you please ask him to shut the fuck up?” — a line that lands somewhere between a growl and a punchline.

Koepp, who produces alongside Gavin Polone, infuses a blend of apocalyptic tension and dark humor, giving Campbell’s direction room to deliver both spectacle and sharp character beats. The teaser showcases practical effects, claustrophobic corridors, and a steady escalation from uneasy discovery to all-out chaos.
While plot specifics beyond the fungal outbreak remain under wraps, the footage makes one thing clear: Cold Storage intends to mix its splatter with smirks.
With its mix of genre thrills, comic beats, and a lead who knows how to deliver both, Cold Storage could be one of 2026’s more unconventional crowd-pleasers. Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the first teaser trailer which you can check out below.
