Marvel Studios has released a new clip from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, offering a brief but meaningful peek at what’s to come from the MCU’s newest cornerstone. The scene, unveiled on Marvel Entertainment’s official YouTube channel, gives fans their first proper taste of the family dynamic that will anchor the highly anticipated film.
The clip opens with Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm waiting around the dinner table, wondering where the rest of the family is. When Reed Richards and Sue Storm finally show up, Johnny wastes no time: “You’re late,” he quips. There’s an odd energy in the air, and it doesn’t take Ben long to call it out “Are you pregnant?” he asks Sue. Her nod confirms it, and the family breaks into cheers. “You’ll be a great mom,” Johnny tells his sister, before turning to Reed: “You’re already in over your head.”

This seemingly low-key moment is doing heavy lifting for the film’s broader ambitions. The pregnancy reveal is more than just a family twist, it’s setting the stage for the arrival of Franklin Richards, a major figure from Marvel Comics who, in the source material, is one of the most powerful characters in the multiverse.
Franklin’s potential role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could ripple through future storylines, especially with Avengers: Doomsday already in production. Whether it’s in a cosmic battle against Galactus or confronting Doctor Doom, his presence will change the game. For now, First Steps is doing exactly that, laying the groundwork.

The core team features Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing), and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch).
With just a few weeks until its July 25 release, the campaign is clearly ramping up. The clip may be short, but it’s clear Marvel’s thinking long-term. The Fantastic Four’s first steps may be small, but this feels like it’s leading somewhere big. You can watch the clip below.
