Marvel Studios has officially begun production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth solo outing for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And a teaser released today offers a brief but striking look at Holland’s updated costume, and it looks a shift in both tone and design from his previous appearances.
The footage, while short…really short! Gives fans just enough to dissect. The most notable update? A suit with raised webbing, a design element we’ve not seen since the Spider-Man suits worn by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. Compared to Holland’s earlier, tech-heavy versions crafted by Tony Stark, this new look feels stripped down, more handmade, and more grounded in the character’s street-level roots.

Directed by Shang-Chi Destin Daniel Cretton, Brand New Day will pick up after the events of No Way Home, in which the world forgets Peter Parker’s identity. With no memory of him remaining in the minds of MJ, Ned, or even other Avengers, Peter appears to be starting from scratch, both as a hero and a person.
Returning cast members Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will reprise their roles, alongside newcomers including Sadie Sink. Also confirmed for the film is Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, a character set to add some weight and intensity to the story. The script comes from No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Holland recently described the shift in tone and production style, talking to Total Film “I think we were really restricted on the last film because of Covid… Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old‑school filmmaking and shoot in real locations, which is why we’re starting in Glasgow”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release on July 31, 2026. With filming now underway, more details are expected to surface in the months ahead. For now, all eyes are on that new suit and what it might mean for where Peter Parker swings next. You can check out the teaser below.
