Apple TV has released two new clips in anticipation of this week’s release of their sci-fi series Dark Matter. The series follows physicist Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton), who finds himself in an alternate version of his life. He must fight his way back to save his family from another version of himself. It will drop onto Apple TV+ May 8.
The two new clips, one from each of the first two episodes premiering on Wednesday, show Edgerton’s character conducting his classes in a room scattered with unenthusiastic students.

Based on the book by New York Times bestselling author Blake Crouch, it is hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade.
The official description from Apple TV reads, Dark Matter is a story about the road not taken. The series follows Jason Dessen, a physicist, professor and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life. Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the mind-bending landscape of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.
Alongside Edgerton, there is an excellent cast that includes Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi and Oakes Fegley.
Dark Matter will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on May 8, followed by weekly episodes up until June 26, 2024.
