It’s been over a decade since Vin Diesel’s last outing as his iconic character, Riddick. And in recent weeks, the action star has been teasing fans by sharing photos from previous films and gym selfies as he trains to once again embody the anti-hero’s physique.
Diesel has played Riddick on three different occasions: in 2000’s Pitch Black, 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick, and 2013’s Riddick. Now, the fourth film is officially in production, with filming scheduled to take place in Germany, Spain, and the U.K.

Officially titled Riddick: Furya, the film will feature Vin Diesel reprising his role as the escaped space prison convict Richard B. Riddick. Additionally, Diesel will serve as the film’s producer under his production house, One Race Films.
The official synopsis reveals plot details such as Riddick’s return to his home world, it reads, Riddick finally returns to his homeworld, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins. But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new monster. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.

Diesel first expressed his desire to return as Riddick over 10 years ago, and today’s news comes well over a year after the project was first announced that Diesel and writer-director David Twohy, who penned the previous installments, would reunite.
