Asteroid City is a romantic comedy/drama with a sci-fi twist. Set in a small American desert town in the 1950s.
The lead character is a widower (played by Jason Schwartzman) who gets stranded in the town with his four children. He appeals to his father-in-law (Tom Hanks) for help, and grows close to a famous actress (Scarlett Johansson).
The anthology formatted film follows three overlapping stories as the town is put into quarantine and the characters’ lives are thrown into chaos.
The new clip finds Tom Hanks, Liev Schreiber, and Hope Davis being held hostage by local security forces as Schreiber wields a Death Ray.
