Netflix have dropped a teaser trailer for new film Hit Man starring Glen Powell and Adria Arjona. Powell’s career has been on the assent recently with the success of Top Gun Maverick and Anyone But You and he will now star in new Netflix rom-com.
Loosely based on a true story from the 2001 Texas Monthly magazine article ‘Hit Man‘. The film follows Houston police associate Gary Johnson played by Powell who goes undercover as an assassin in order to catch willing clients for the police. One client played by Arjona is in an abusive relationship and Powell is intent on saving her.

Written and directed by Richard Linklater, he describes what the film is about, “It’s about identity and self and passion. But on a plot level, it’s just a guy who gets in a little too deep. His passions lead him in a direction where he’s deceiving someone he’s in love with, and being someone else. They have to deal with those repercussions.”
The official synopsis for the film reads, “Inspired by an unbelievable true story, a strait-laced professor discovers his hidden talent as a fake hit man. He meets his match in a client who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities.”
