Five years after his iconic role as Jon Snow, the wolf-loving hero from Game of Thrones, English actor Kit Harington is about to transform into a werewolf in the eagerly awaited monster movie, The Beast Within.
In the newly released trailer for the film, formerly known as What Remains of Us, a loving family dynamic between a young girl named Willow (Caoilinn Springall) and her parents is initially set up. However, their idyllic lives in the secluded woods quickly reveals a sinister undertone. As the trailer continues, Harington’s character, though a devoted father, grows increasingly menacing, confessing, “It gets harder to control the rage.”

The official synopsis reads: After a series of strange events lead her to question her family’s isolated life on a fortified compound deep in the English wilds, 10-year-old Willow follows her parents on one of their secret late-night treks to the heart of the ancient forest. But upon witnessing her father (Harington) undergo a terrible transformation, she too becomes ensnared by the dark ancestral secret they’ve tried so desperately to conceal.
The film also features another Game of Thrones alum, James Cosmo, known for his role as Jeor Mormont, the Commander of the Watchers on the Wall. In the trailer, he cautions Willow’s mother, played by Ashleigh Cummings, about the looming threat her husband poses to their daughter.

While the trailer stops short of confirming Harington’s character as a werewolf, several clues suggest this transformation. His wife is seen chaining him up at night, and his changes include elongated claws, sharp fangs, and canine-like yellow eyes—all hallmarks of werewolf lore. Plus…the numerous shots of a full moon are hard to ignore.
Directed by Alexander J. Farrell, The Beast Within hits theaters nationwide July 26.
