Tyler Perry already has a string of Netflix thrillers and the trailer for his latest film Mea Culpa has been released with Kelly Rowland and Trevante Rhodes in the lead roles.
The film follows Rowlands Mea Harper a criminal defense attorney that takes on the murder case against Zyair Malloy (Rhodes.) Malloy is an artist and he’s accused of killing his girlfriend.

Things become complicated when Rowland and Rhodes’ characters become romantically involved with one another, all the while coming across new clues as to whether her client is really innocent or not.
The official synopsis for the film reads, “Criminal defense attorney Mea Harper takes on the murder case against Zyair Malloy, an artist accused of killing his girlfriend. As she tries to figure out if her cagy and seductive client is as innocent as he claims, Mea gets thrust into a world that’s both hot and dangerous.”

This is Perry’s fifth Netflix film as he continues his multi-year deal to write, direct and produce for the streaming giant.
Mea Culpa will be released on Netflix February 23.
