Lionsgate have released a trailer for their new film Miller’s Girl. The film from writer-director Jade Halley Bartlett is due for release January 26 after it debuts at the Palm Springs International Film Festival earlier in the month.
Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman find themselves in a heated student-teacher relationship after Ortega’s teacher assigns her to write a short story inspired by her favorite author. Freeman’s character reacts saying, “Why did you write this? This is inappropriate.” The film hints that Ortega’s attitude may be to blackmail her teacher to get what she wants.
Freeman later worries saying, “If she can convince them that something happened between us, I would lose my job.” With lives and reputations on the line, this looks a twisty psychological thriller.
Written and directed by Bartlett and co-starting Dagmara Domińczyk, Bashir Salahuddin and Gideon Adlon. Miller’s Girl also has Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg as producers.
Miller’s Girl is due to premiere in cinemas January 26, 2024.
