Alien: Earth

New ‘Alien: Earth’ Teaser Fuels Hype Ahead of August Premiere

‘Alien: Earth’ looks to be FX’s boldest sci-fi series yet!

The Alien franchise returns this summer with a television twist. FX has unveiled a new teaser for Alien: Earth, giving us another look at the prequel series that promises to drag both monsters and corporate corruption into the spotlight. The series debuts August 12 on FX and Hulu in the U.S., and on Disney+ internationally.

Set over a century before Ridley Scott’s 1979 original, Alien: Earth takes place in the year 2120. The setup? A mysterious spacecraft crashes on Earth, and whatever’s inside brings chaos with it. That includes the franchise’s most recognizable threat: the Xenomorph. But this time, the alien menace isn’t acting alone, it’s sharing the screen with something even more insidious: human ambition.

As FX outlines in its synopsis, Alien: Earth unfolds in a world ruled by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. These mega-firms have effectively replaced nation-states, with their innovations in tech promising to reshape life on Earth and beyond. When a young woman and a team of tactical soldiers investigate the downed vessel, they discover more than they bargained for. And as the new teaser warns, “There’s a price to pay for being more than human.” you can watch below.

The show explores the early days of Weyland-Yutani and the corporate arms race to perfect synthetic life. It’s a theme that showrunner Noah Hawley has leaned into.

The cast brings together an impressive ensemble, led by Sydney Chandler and including Alex LawtherTimothy OlyphantEssie DavisAdarsh Gourav, and Samuel Blenkin. With eight episodes on deck, the first two drop August 12, followed by weekly episodes every Tuesday through September 23.

If the teaser is any indication, Alien: Earth is less about the stars above and more about the rot below, corporate greed, synthetic ambition, and the same old monsters in new skin.
