Josh Hartnett’s serial killer goes on the offensive!

Warner Bros. has unveiled a second trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s latest film, Trap. The trailer features Josh Hartnett as a serial killer who turns a pop concert trap set by his captors against them.

Written and directed by Shyamalan, this psychological thriller centers on The Butcher, a serial killer who takes his daughter to a concert by pop star Lady Raven (Saleka), only to discover it’s a police setup to apprehend him.

The initial trailer for Trap showcases a major twist, a hallmark of Shyamalan’s storytelling. In the trailer, Josh Hartnett’s character steps away from the concert to use the bathroom, only to notice a heavy police presence. He soon realizes they are there to apprehend a serial killer. The twist? Hartnett’s character is the killer, a fact revealed through live footage on his phone showing that he is holding someone hostage.

The second trailer for Trap unveils how Josh Hartnett’s serial killer outmaneuvers his captors at the pop concert. The trailer shows him pushing a girl down some steps and carrying her to the medical ward, where he steals a police radio. As he plots to create chaos, he considers pulling the fire alarm but is interrupted by his daughter. Later, he causes a distraction with an explosion using a deep fryer and accesses an employees-only area with a stolen key card.

Given that both trailers for Trap reveal a major twist, there is speculation that M. Night Shyamalan’s film will include an additional surprise twist. Even at one point in the trailer, Hartnett manages to evade police suspicion by nonchalantly carrying a cup of coffee, it will be intriguing to see how it unfolds.

This year marks a significant milestone for the Shyamalan family. In early June, Ishana Night Shyamalan debuted as a director with her film The Watchers. Next, M. Night Shyamalan’s latest movie, Trap, is set to hit cinemas August 2.
