Ryan Coogler’s latest film, Sinners, is now available to buy and rent across digital platforms. This isn’t your typical vampire movie it’s a bold mix of horror, history, and music set deep in the Jim Crow South. The film stands out with its gothic style and a unique story that’s as much about culture and identity as it is about monsters.
The story follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack, both played by Michael B. Jordan. After spending time with Al Capone’s crew in Chicago, they return home to Mississippi with a mission: to reclaim Black joy and create something lasting in a world shaped by oppression. Their weapon of choice is a lively juke joint, where music and defiance intertwine. But beneath the vibrant sounds, darker forces are lurking.

The vampires in Sinners aren’t the usual brooding or sparkly types. These creatures feed on more than just blood, they leech off culture, talent, and soul. Jack O’Connell plays Remmick, the sinister vampire leader with a chilling smile and an unsettling presence. His terrifying attacks are as unforgettable as they are gruesome.
Visually, Sinners is stunning. Shot on 70mm film, the movie is drenched in rich reds and golds, creating an atmosphere thick with mood and texture. The soundtrack pulses with blues, gospel, and voodoo chants, immersing viewers in a deeply emotional and musical experience that propels the story.

The film takes its time to build the world and its characters before the horror truly kicks in. The first hour feels more like a period drama, allowing audiences to connect with the characters and their struggles. Then, the pace picks up dramatically in the second half, with action and folklore blending into an explosive climax.
With strong performances from the entire cast, including Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, and Hailee Steinfeld, Sinners offers a layered and ambitious take on vampire lore. The monsters here symbolize exploitation and cultural theft, making this film more than just a genre piece. If you’re looking for something different, bold, and thought-provoking, Sinners is now ready for your watchlist.
You can now buy or rent Sinners on digital platforms.
