The game isn’t over—yet. Netflix has released the first teaser for Squid Game Season 3, setting the stage for the final chapter of one of the platform’s most talked-about global hits. The series returns on June 27, 2025, with a grim promise: the stakes have never been higher, and the players never more desperate.
At the heart of the story once again is Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, who reenters the arena not out of choice, but compulsion. Left devastated after the betrayal and loss that closed out Season 2, Gi-hun appears broken—but not finished. “Picking up from Season 2’s devastating cliffhanger, Season 3 thrusts Gi-hun (Player 456) back into the brutal heart of the games, determined to dismantle them once and for all,” Netflix tease.

The teaser hints at what’s to come without giving too much away. A surreal new game involving colored balls from a gumball machine sets the tone. In one tense moment, a mother and son—Jang Geum-ja and Yong-sik—exchange anxious looks after receiving mismatched colors. The games remain deadly, but now, they’re laced with deeper emotional undercurrents.
There’s also the return of the enigmatic Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun, whose presence looms even larger this season. He resurfaces amid chaos, still one step ahead—and still dangerous. His brother, detective Hwang Jun-ho, is edging closer to the truth, unaware of a traitor lurking within his circle.

A jarring image in the teaser sees Gi-hun delivered in a familiar black coffin box, typically reserved for the fallen. As other players peel open the lid, he rises—confused, but alive. It’s a symbolic rebirth of sorts. But if the past is any guide, rebirth in the Squid Game universe comes with a price.
And then, there’s the cry. A baby’s wail closes the trailer—eerie, unexpected, and unsettling. Theories abound: is it Jun-hee’s child, or something even darker? Netflix isn’t saying, but it’s clear the final season plans to push boundaries.
Squid Game may be ending, but the franchise’s future remains wide open. For now, all eyes are on June 27. You cant watch the first teaser below.
