‘The Grand Tour: One For The Road’ Full Trailer Released as Trio Prepares to Part Ways After 22 Years

The end of the road for Clarkson, Hammond & May draws near!

Hot on the heels of Amazon’s previous sneak peek of the finale of their hit series The Grand Tour, Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer for The Grand Tour: One For The Road, the final episode of the beloved show. In this last adventure, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May reunite for one final journey together, heading to Zimbabwe.

The news of the show’s finale has left many fans heartbroken, especially after it was announced last year that the three hosts would be bowing out after eight years of high-octane entertainment. Since its launch in 2016, The Grand Tour quickly became one of Prime Video’s biggest hits. Now, as the series prepares to take its final bow, fans are eagerly awaiting this last ride with the motoring legends.

The newly released preview, set to the iconic tune of Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” features the trio navigating breathtaking landscapes with their usual mix of chaos and camaraderie. Richard Hammond reflects, “I never thought that what we do together would go on as it has.”

James May adds, “Twenty-two years,” while Jeremy Clarkson cryptically asks, “Shall we change the habit of a lifetime and help him?” as they consider, for once, assisting a colleague in trouble rather than leaving him behind. As Richard then watches a car speeding away, he jokingly accuses his colleague, “Still a bastard, after all these years.”

The Grand Tour was born when Clarkson, Hammond, and May joined forces after their departure from the BBC’s iconic motoring show, Top Gear. Clarkson, who had revitalized Top Gear in 2002, was dismissed from the show following an altercation in which he punched a producer. In solidarity with their longtime co-host, Hammond and May soon left the show as well, leading the trio to embark on a new adventure with The Grand Tour.

The official synopsis for the finale reads, “Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May ignore the instructions of Mr Wilman and head to Zimbabwe in three cars they’ve always wanted to own, a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag, for a stunning road trip through beautiful and sometimes challenging landscapes leading to an emotional ending on a strangely familiar island.”

The Grand Tour: One for the Road will be the show’s final special, premiering on September 13 on Amazon Prime Video.
