The final trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die is here. Four years after the successful revival with Bad Boys for Life, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back for another adventure. This time, they find themselves on the run as they grapple with the shocking revelation that their late captain has been accused of corruption.
The popular action-comedy debuted in 1995, when Smith and Lawrence first teamed up as Miami PD detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, who investigate illegal drug trading in Miami.
The new trailer dives straight into the action, where Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett are shocked to learn that their former captain, Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano), was allegedly corrupt. Yet, a video message from Howard, sent after his death, hints at a deeper corruption within the Miami Police Department, suggesting that an insider orchestrated his murder.
The new trailer also sees that the film’s style remains consistent with previous installments, particularly considering that the first two films were directed by Michael Bay. With, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who directed Bad Boys for Life, are returning for this latest installment.
Alongside Smith, Lawrence and Pantoliano the cast also includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Rhea Seehorn and Tiffany Haddish.
In 2020, the release of Bad Boys for Life revitalized the franchise after a long absence. The film received both critical and commercial acclaim, earning $426.5 million at the box office and becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year. This achievement is particularly notable considering the widespread disruption caused by COVID-19. Due to the success of Bad Boys for Life, the announcement of Bad Boys 4 followed almost immediately.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die will be in cinemas worldwide from June 7.
