Warner Bros. have released the trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and after 5 years Jason Momoa will return as Arthur Curry the half human, half Atlantean hero Aquaman, as he now sits on the throne of Atlantis.
The sequel will see him team up with his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) to fight ruthless pirate David Kane aka Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen).
The trailer also features a very brief appearance from Amber Heard, she can be seen only for a split second as she bangs on a door. Her appearance in her own words has been described as “a very pared-down version.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly director James Wan says that the sequel was always going to be about Arthur and Orm’s relationship [regardless of Amber Heard’s role] he said.
“I always pitched this to everyone from the get-go. The first Aquaman was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So, the first was a romance action-adventure movie, the second one is a bromance action-adventure movie.”

The official synopsis for the film reads, “Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.”
Alongside Momoa & Wilson the cast also includes, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison & Dolph Lundgren.
