Another Simple Favor has now officially landed on Prime Video, reuniting Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in their sharp-edged roles from the 2018 hit A Simple Favor. This time expect more twists and turns. As the sequel picks up with the pair in the glamorous setting of Capri, Italy.
Another Simple Favor sees Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) thrown back together in the most unexpected way. After securing a mysterious release from prison, Emily reaches out to her former best friend–turned-enemy with a surprising request: to be the maid of honour at her lavish wedding on the idyllic island of Capri, Italy. But this is no ordinary reunion. As guests gather beneath the Mediterranean sun for Emily’s nuptials to a wealthy Italian businessman, murder and betrayal aren’t far behind. What begins as a glamorous destination wedding quickly spirals into a deadly game with more twists than the road from Marina Grande to Capri town square.

Directed by Paul Feig, the film dives straight into the heart of the relationship between the two leads. According to Feig, the chemistry between Lively and Kendrick was “Magic” he told RadioTime.com. That back-and-forth between them is what really makes the sequel work their messy friendship and ever-changing agendas keep things tense and unpredictable the whole way through.
Fans of the original may be surprised that it took this long for a sequel. A Simple Favor, based on Darcey Bell’s novel, became a critical and commercial success when it hit theaters in 2018, pulling in nearly $100 million worldwide on a modest $20 million budget. It even earned a solid 84% “Certified Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite that momentum, it’s taken until now for Paul Feig’s sequel to finally make it to screens and this time, it’s skipping theaters entirely for a Prime Video release.

Another Simple Favor also sees Henry Golding return as Emily’s ex-husband, Sean, adding yet another layer to the already complex narrative. The sequel also features Allison Janney, Aparna Nancherla, and Andrew Rannells, rounding out an already compelling cast.
Interestingly, while Another Simple Favor is streaming on Prime Video, the original 2018 film isn’t available on the platform for U.S. subscribers. Instead, American viewers can catch up on A Simple Favor over on Netflix — but only for a limited time, as it’s set to leave the service on May 19. In the UK, however, both films are conveniently available on Prime Video, making it easy for fans to dive straight into the stylish chaos from the beginning.
