Bob Odenkirk Racks Up a Body Count While on Vacation in ‘Nobody 2’ Trailer

Hutch Mansell can’t catch a break!

In Nobody 2, Hutch Mansell is back—and his idea of a relaxing family vacation gets crushed under the weight of more criminal chaos. The sequel to the 2021 action hit sees Bob Odenkirk’s seemingly average dad once again dragged into a brutal underworld he can’t quite escape. Directed by Timo Tjahjanto, this chapter swaps suburban shootouts for sunny mayhem in a seaside town that becomes a battleground.

This time around, Hutch has tried to do the right thing—pack up the family, take a break, and maybe reconnect with his wife Becca (Connie Nielsen) and their kids. But Plummerville doesn’t turn out to be the peaceful getaway he’d hoped for. Instead, it’s crawling with shady characters, including a twisted theme park owner (John Ortiz), a dirty sheriff (Colin Hanks), and a fearsome new adversary played by Sharon Stone.

Violence escalates fast. A few harsh words at the fairground turn into full-on carnage, with Hutch weaponizing everything from whack-a-mole hammers to pinball machines. It’s not long before his old instincts resurface and so does Harry (RZA), joining the fight when things spiral out of control. “I just wanted a break,” Hutch mutters in the trailer. He picked the wrong zip code for downtime.

Sharon Stone steps into the villain role with icy precision, playing a ruthless crime boss who turns a family vacation into a full-scale warzone. Stone’s character vowing vengeance: “Find this nobody,” she commands. “Scorched earth.” And in true Nobody fashion, Odenkirk’s Hutch delivers a deadpan mic-drop as he pounds a henchman: “I told you, I’m on fucking vacation.”

Here’s the official synopsis:
Four years after he inadvertently took on the Russian mob, Hutch remains $30 million in debt to the criminal organization and is working it off with an unending string of hits on international thugs. Much as he likes the slam-bang action of his ‘job,’ Hutch and his wife Becca find themselves overworked and drifting apart. So, they decide to take their kids (Gage Munroe, Paisley Cadorath) on a short getaway with Hutch’s dad (Christopher Lloyd) in tow. When a minor encounter with some town bullies yanks the family into the crosshairs of a corrupt theme-park operator and his shady sheriff, Hutch finds himself the focus of the most unhinged, blood-thirsty crime boss he (or anyone) has ever encountered.

Nobody 2 arrives in theaters August 15, courtesy of Universal Pictures. The film is written by Derek Kolstad and Aaron Rabin, with Odenkirk, Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Marc Provissiero, and Braden Aftergood producing.

Lindsey Buckingham’s “Holiday Road” provides a darkly ironic backdrop in the trailer—a nod to National Lampoon’s Vacation, but this one’s clearly rated R.
