Sony Pictures has released a new set of character posters for the upcoming legacy sequel I Know What You Did Last Summer, putting faces to both fresh blood and returning survivors. The posters tease the hook across the faces of the cast, as they’re about to be hunted down one by one.
Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are back as Julie James and Ray Bronson, stepping once again into a story that refuses to stay buried. The posters show the two looking older, wearier, and likely no strangers to what’s coming. Their return links this new chapter to the 1997 original, and the nostalgia is front and center.

A new generation joins the fray, with Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, and Sarah Pidgeon taking up the mantle as the next unlucky group drawn into Southport’s deadly legacy. The plot once again revolves around a deadly secret and a pact gone wrong. But when the past returns with a hook, the stakes climb fast and nobody is safe.
The posters lean into moody lighting and ominous facial expressions, hinting at the violence to come. With each character having their own tagline expressing that each one might as well be wearing a target. One thing’s clear: the killer doesn’t discriminate.

Behind the camera is director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Lansky. The story is credited to Robinson and Leah McKendrick. The sequel also brings back original producer Neal H. Moritz. He’s joined by Jackie Shenoo and Karina Rahardja, whose producing credits include Red Rocket, Escape Room, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
With its July 18 release date fast approaching, the promotional gears are turning. The posters are slick, the cast is stacked, and the hook? Still sharp.
