Early ‘Furiosa’ Reactions Are Raving About George Miller’s Prequel Calling It ‘Epic’ and a ‘Blast’

Critics are loving the Anya Taylor-Joy-led ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ prequel!

With only a matter of weeks until the highly anticipated Fury Road prequel, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, hits the big screen, early viewers are already raving about George Miller’s latest post-apocalyptic outing. Many are praising leads Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, with the film being labeled a ‘blast’.

Furiosa, set 15 years prior to Charlize Theron’s take on the Imperator Furiosa, tracks the younger Furiosa into adulthood, 45 years after the collapse, showing how she became the leader and skilled survivalist viewers remember from Theron’s 2015 film.

The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: “As the world falls, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. While two Tyrants war for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland.”

Early reactions are giving us plenty of reasons to be excited, with many praising the lead actors, the cinematography, and labeling the film ‘stunning’ and ‘epic’.

Furiosa was actually conceived before Fury Road was made; Miller had written a script that predates Fury Road. However, the project was held up for years due to legal battles between Miller and the studio over profits. Now that those issues have been set aside, we have early reasons to be excited for Furiosa. The anticipation has been building for this prequel, and early reactions are giving us even more cause for excitement.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will be in cinemas worldwide May 24.
