Illumination has dropped a second trailer for Despicable Me 4, introducing a new ally for Gru: the ‘Mega-Minions.’ The trailer reveals the unsuspecting minion volunteers being transformed into a new superhero force.
The first trailer for Despicable Me 4, released in January, introduced a new addition to the family: Gru Jr. The family finds themselves thrust into action to defend themselves. Gru and Jr. embark on a heist alongside mischievous minions. During the heist, Gru accidentally drugs himself and encounters an angry honey badger.

This new trailer, however, firmly places the minions center stage. We see them being informed by Steve Coogan’s Silas Ramsbottom that they will be given a serum to enhance their abilities, all in order to help Gru stop the new villains.
Steve Carell’s reformed supervillain Gru, alongside his Minion allies, will take on an enemy from Gru’s past, Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell), and his femme fatale girlfriend, Valentina Maxime (Sofia Vergara), who target the family.

Despicable Me 4 will hit US cinemas on July 3 and will be just over a week later in the UK July 12.
