Based on true events that occurred in 1980, Elizabeth Olsen will play Candy Montgomery. A petite churchgoing Texas housewife who was accused of brutally murdering her best friend Betty Gore with an axe. Candy also had an affair with Betty’s husband Allan (Jesse Plemons)
When the pair ended their relationship things became nasty and Betty was found dead. The series is written by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing)

The first 3 episodes will be released on HBO Max on April 27. The series will not be available in the UK until Autumn where it will be streamed exclusively on ITVX.
UK viewers can however see Candy a miniseries available on Disney Plus starring Jessica Biel in the lead role in which she portrays Candy Montgomery.
