‘MobLand’ Renewed Season 2 Confirmed at Paramount+ With it’s Core Cast Returning

Paramount+ doubles down on ‘MobLand’ mayhem!

Paramount+ has officially greenlit a second season of MobLand, the gritty gangster series starring Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan. The announcement comes just weeks after Season 1 wrapped up with blood, betrayal, and more than a few unanswered questions.

The show’s renewal was confirmed via Paramount’s social channels, accompanied by a cryptic tagline: “They may have won the battle, but will they win the war?” It’s a clear nod to the Harrigan family’s rise to power and the storm surely brewing in Season 2.

The season 1 finale left no shortage of carnage. Kevin Harrigan, played by Paddy Considine, emerged victorious, assuming leadership of the family. Conrad (Brosnan) and Maeve (Mirren) walked free after being wrongfully accused, their names cleared just in time for round two. But the real kicker? Harry Da Souza (Hardy) was last seen bleeding out from a knife wound inflicted by his wife, played by Joanne Froggatt.

Is Harry out for good? No chance! The man talks like a Shakespearean hitman and fixes problems others can’t even define. He’ll be back…bruised, maybe, but breathing.

Speaking about the renewal, co-writer Jez Butterworth said, “TV was a brand new world for me and I was reluctant to commit to TV overall, but Chris, David and the teams at Paramount and 101 Studios completely changed my perspective with their bold creative vision and razor-sharp strategic insight.” He continued, “Collaborating with Chris, David, Guy and our stellar cast has been nothing short of inspiring and I’m excited to dive into the second season of MobLand.” (statement via Paramount+ press release)

With over 26 million viewers and a No. 1 ranking globally for the streamer, MobLand has carved out a space for itself in the high-stakes world of prestige crime TV. Season 2 promises to raise the stakes even higher. More violence. More schemes. And more metaphor-correcting from Hardy’s Harry.

Hold on tight. The war isn’t over…hell, it’s just warming up.
