Christopher Nolan looks set to win his first Bafta as his Oppenheimer biopic leads this years Bafta Film Awards with 13 nominations. Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things comes in second with 11.
Oppenheimer is up for best film, director, adapted screenplay, leading actor for Cillian Murphy, supporting actress for Emily Blunt, supporting actor for Robert Downey Jr, cinematography, editing, costume design, makeup and hair, original score, production design, and sound.
There are also a few controversial snubs including Martin Scorsese for Best Director and in the acting categories Lily Gladstone’s performance in Killers of the Flower Moon has been overlooked, despite winning a Golden Globe for her performance just last week.
