Rebel Moon Part One was panned by critics and divided fans with many disappointed Zack Snyder’s Star Wars-meets-Dune ultra-violent, sweary, space epic did not meet expectations.
The criticism surrounding the film was so intense that its star, Sofia Boutella, openly expressed her disappointment and how it affected her. She remarked, “I always thought that I was fully armed to take on those punches, and then I read the critics that came down on Rebel Moon, and it really affected me.”

But love it or hate it Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver is coming, with its trailer promising all out war. The sequel continues the story of Kora (Boutella) and her band of fighters, composed of outcasts and rebels, as they gear up to confront the heinous Imperium and defend the moon of Veldt.
The trailer also teases robot Jimmy (voiced by Anthony Hopkins) being forced to take up arms, as he solemnly declares, “I have no choice but to fight.”

The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld.
Alongside Boutella and Hopkins the cast also includes, Charlie Hunnam as Kai, Ed Skrein as Atticus Noble, Djimon Hounsou as Titus, Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, Jena Malone as Harmada and Cary Elwes as The King.
Directed by Zack Snyder Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver will be on Netflix April 19.
