Peacock have dropped the trailer for its highly anticipated prequel series Ted. The new trailer shows the pair in the 90’s, a 16 year old John Bennett struggles to survive high school when his foul-mouthed talking teddy bear Ted is forced to join him.
Mark Wahlberg played adult John in the original movie, 2012’s Ted the comedy follows the story of John Bennett and his living teddy bear, Ted, who came to life as a result of a childhood wish. As John grows older, he faces the challenge of balancing his adult life with the presence of his inappropriate and foul-mouthed teddy bear. The movie explores themes of friendship, maturity, and the consequences of holding onto one’s childhood.

The series however follows the young Ted & John living a suburban family life. The trailer shows that Ted is living a rather non-existent life, as the family are at school or work Ted is aimlessly left to wonder the house.
With Ted up to no good when home alone, he is confronted about a broken TV while entertaining three women, the fed up family ship Ted off to school with John.

The trailer shows that Ted going to school with John is not good news for the 16 year old boy as he is ridiculed by classmates and teased by Ted along the way.
Seth McFarlane returns to voice Ted and serve as well as executive producer, writer & director. John is played by Max Burkholder, The remaining cast includes Alanna Ubach as Susan Bennett John’s mother and Scott Grimes as Matty Bennett John’s father and Giorgia Whigham plays John’s cousin Blaire.
All seven episodes of Ted will be available on Peacock on January 11, 2024. There is no UK broadcasting date as of yet but it will premiere on Sky Max & Now TV early 2024.
