Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard star in emotional new film Memory as the pair re-live past memories after Sarsgaard’s Saul follows Sylvia played by Chastain home after they attend a high school reunion.
The trailer shows Saul suffering with early-onset dementia, his encounter with Sylvia an alcoholic single mother leads the pair to re-live a past trauma as Sylvia becomes a major part of Saul’s life as she agrees to take care of him. As the pair become closer their past unravels.

Following its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival Memory has already racked up a healthy 91% on Rotten Tomatoes after receiving early praise from critics after becoming a favorite across the festival circuit.
The official synopsis for the film reads, Sylvia is a social worker who leads a simple and structured life, her daughter, her job, her AA meetings. This is blown open when Saul follows her home from their high school reunion. Their surprise encounter will profoundly impact both of them as they open the door to the past.

Written & Directed by Michel Franco, the film also stars Josh Charles, Elsie Fisher and Jessica Harper playing Chastain’s mother.
Memory is expected to release early January, 2024.
