Horror maestro Mike Flanagan is back with his much anticipated Edgar Allan Poe adaptation, The Fall of the House of Usher. With the series coming to Netflix October 12.
Netflix have dropped a creepy, tense trailer for the series. It sees ruthless siblings that have built a pharmaceutical empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.
Flanagan has become Netflix’s go to man for Horror in recent years, he has a number of huge hits under his belt for the streaming giant including The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor & Midnight Mass.
His latest, an ambitious re-working of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story. It Sees pharmaceutical CEO Roderick Usher together with his twin sister Madeline overseeing the vast corporate empire. A shapeshifting demon from his past appears and is hell bent on killing his children and an attorney who is trying to expose corruption taking place at Fortunato Pharmaceuticals. Leaving Roderick now having to confront his own past sins.
The official synopsis for the series reads, “In this wicked series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.”
