HBO confirmed The Last of Us season 2 will go ahead, but amid continued writers strikes and the studios refusal to settle, production and casting has been halted on season 2. Preparations for casting were well underway. It’s been reported by Variety that The Last of Us team have been using scenes from the video game, because scripts are not yet ready.
Widely regarded as the greatest video game adaptation of all time The Last of Us Season 2 will continue with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie.
Season 2 will continue the story from the second game which occurs 5 years after the end of the events of the first. It’s rumored the second game may be covered by two seasons of television, due to the second games vaster length.
The Last of Us Season one is available on HBO in the US and Sky in UK. It tells the story of Joel & Ellie as they travel across post-apocalyptic America as the Cordyceps fungus turns humans into its host as it spreads across the world.
