The Latest ‘HIM’ Teaser Warns Never Meet your Heroes

‘What Are You Willing to Sacrifice?’

The upcoming horror film HIM, produced by Jordan Peele, is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Directed by Justin Tipping, the film follows a promising college quarterback who is drawn into a sinister world by his idol, forcing him to confront the ultimate question: What is he willing to sacrifice for fame?

Tipping, known for his work on The Chi and Dear White People, steps into the director’s chair under Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. While Peele’s name carries significant weight in the horror genre, HIM is very much Tipping’s vision, ensuring the film has a distinct style and unsettling atmosphere. A new teaser released yesterday warns to ‘never meet your heroes’ you can watch below.

The longer teaser trailer released last month, introduces Marlon Wayans as legendary quarterback Isaiah White, who takes young athlete Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers) under his wing. As Cameron recovers from a near career-ending brain injury at Isaiah’s isolated compound, the mentorship quickly turns into something far more disturbing. “I’m never good enough. That’s how great people think,” Isaiah tells him, setting the tone for the psychological horror that unfolds.

The trailer’s eerie imagery makes it clear that HIM is no ordinary sports drama. Haunting mascots, unsettling rituals, and cryptic dialogue build tension without revealing too much of the plot. “You’re gonna have to ask yourself, ‘What am I willing to sacrifice?’” Isaiah warns, just before a masked figure looms behind Cameron.

As the teaser progresses, the horror intensifies, flashes of disturbing visuals, self-inflicted injuries, and a blood-soaked Cameron standing atop a mysterious sigil. The final shot sees him raising his arms in a Christ-like pose, forming the “I” in HIM, a chilling image that lingers long after the trailer ends.

With Peele’s name attached and Tipping’s direction promising a fresh take on psychological horror, HIM is set to leave audiences questioning the price of ambition. The film hits theaters on September 19. You can watch the teaser below.
