Lionsgate and Sky have unveiled the first trailer for The Radleys, a new horror/comedy directed by Euros Lyn and penned by Talitha Stevenson. The film stars Damian Lewis and Kelly Macdonald as a seemingly ordinary suburban couple with a chilling secret—they’re vampires.
The trailer reveals that the Radley family is far from average; they are undead creatures who rely on blood to survive, hiding their true nature from their unsuspecting neighbors.
Based on a highly praised novel by best-selling author Matt Haig, the trailer offers a sneak peek at Golden Globe winner Lewis taking on a dual role, alongside Emmy winner Macdonald. As the family struggles to control their blood-sucking urges, their efforts to fit into suburban life are thrown into chaos with the arrival of Uncle Will, a hedonistic and unapologetic vampire who threatens to disrupt their fragile semblance of normalcy.
The trailer sees, the Radleys’ tranquil suburban existence disrupted when their daughter, Clara (Bo Bragason), succumbs to her vampiric instincts and kills a teenager who was assaulting her in the woods. Faced with the threat of their secret being exposed, Peter (played by Lewis) turns to his twin brother—also portrayed by Lewis—for help. Unlike Peter, the twin is less concerned about maintaining the family’s secret, adding a layer of tension and dark humor to the unfolding chaos.
The official synopsis reads, “The Radleys are an ordinary family who hold a dark secret… they are abstaining vampires. As if being a teenager wasn’t bad enough, bloodthirsty instincts take over the teens of the family revealing the terrifying truth and opening the door for an extended family member to re-enter and upend The Radleys’ once perfect slice of suburbia.”
This Halloween, The Radleys, will hit cinemas and Sky Cinema in the UK on October 18. The Vampire thriller will hit the US, when it premieres in theaters, as well as on digital platforms and on-demand services starting October 4.
