Tom Hardy is back and this time, he will be wading through pure chaos in Netflix’s upcoming action thriller Havoc. Directed by The Raid director Gareth Evans and early reactions from its London premiere suggest it could be one of the year’s standout action titles.
The setup looks classic Hardy: gritty and unrelenting. He plays Walker, a cop weighed down by guilt who must navigate a dangerous criminal underworld to recover a politician’s missing son. The plot escalates after a botched drug deal, drawing Walker into a complex network of violence and corruption that threatens to consume the entire city.

Critics attending the premiere praised the film’s intensity and action choreography. “Gareth Evans is back showing everybody how action should be done in the insanely violent Havoc, coming to Netflix next Friday,” wrote Ian Sandwell of Digital Spy on social media.
Evans who’s already a connoisseur of extreme violence with the likes of Gangs of London—brings his signature bone-snapping, tightly choreographed action to this new venture. And with Hardy in his element the film should deliver hard-hitting sequences and a gritty atmosphere that fans of the genre will appreciate.

Alongside Hardy, Havoc features a wide ensemble cast, including Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, Jessie Mei Li, Luis Guzmán, and Yeo Yann Yann. The film was written and directed by Evans, and is one of Netflix’s most anticipated original releases this spring.
Havoc has been four years in the making and will be available to stream globally on Netflix starting April 25.
