The trailer for Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 hints at a return to it’s origins for a climactic final battle. Set in the early 11th century, this period drama chronicles the heroic adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived: Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his sister Freydis (Frida Gustavsson), and the Norwegian prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter).
Premiering on Thursday, July 11, the new season picks up seven years after the events of the Season 2 finale. The upcoming episodes find Freydis as the undisputed leader of pagan Jomsborg, while Leif and Harald have achieved glory in Constantinople.

However, as the synopsis teases, “greater challenges lie ahead in order for each to reach their ultimate destiny.” The series, which premiered in 2020 as a sequel set over a century after the original Vikings, depicts the end of the Viking Age and follows the exploits of Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, Harald Sigurdsson, and William the Conqueror.
In the Season 3 trailer, the Vikings venture farther than ever before, journeying from Constantinople to Greenland in search of a new home. However, before embarking on this epic adventure, they must return to their origins for a decisive final battle. Meanwhile, King Canute faces the challenge of reconciling with the Catholic Church. Fortunately, he has the steadfast support of Queen Emma, whose enduring influence continues to play a crucial role in their endeavors.

Co-creator and executive producer Jeb Stuart has stated that Vikings: Valhalla season 3 will bring the series to it’s natural conclusion, saying:
I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydís. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today, and we have done just that.
