A New Era Begins as James Gunn Unveils the Epic New Trailer for ‘Superman’

Superman’s new era takes flight in the latest trailer.

DC Studios has unveiled the full trailer for Superman, James Gunn’s highly anticipated reboot of the iconic hero. Clocking in at just over three minutes, the trailer pulls back the curtain on the film’s ensemble cast and sets the stage for what could be a defining chapter in the character’s cinematic journey.

David Corenswet steps into the cape as Clark Kent, while Rachel Brosnahan brings sharp wit to Lois Lane. Their chemistry is front and center, especially during a tension-filled interview that turns heated over Superman’s global interventions. The friction isn’t just romantic, it’s ideological. Superman wants to help; Lois wants to know at what cost.

Meanwhile, the trailer throws a spotlight on a gallery of characters. María Gabriela de Faría’s The Engineer takes out the Fortress of Solitude’s robotic caretakers, and Krypto the Superdog doesn’t hesitate to punch back—literally.

We also catch glimpses of the wider DC roster, including Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. The newly introduced Hammer of Boravia gets screen time, along with Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult. Luthor’s voice cuts through the trailer: “He’s not a man,” he says. “He’s an ‘it’ and somehow become the focal point of the entire world’s conversation.”

Earlier teaser footage showed Superman at a low point, being dragged to safety by Krypto. In a scene laced with dry humor, a damaged service robot tells the hero, “No need to thank us, sir, as we will not appreciate it.”

James Gunn, who also co-leads DC Studios with Peter Safran, teased the trailer on Instagram earlier this week. “I’ve been waiting too long to share this with you all!” he wrote, ahead of its full release.

Superman lands in theaters on July 11. With James Gunn’s signature blend of grit and heart, Superman looks ready to soar—and the world will be watching. For Warner Bros. and DC Studios, this isn’t just a movie—it’s a statement. You can watch the trailer below.
