Studiocanal UK & Focus Features have released the first full trailer for Back to Black and provided another look at the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic. Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, it stars Marisa Abela as the troubled singer.
Backed by Amy’s classic song ‘Back to Black,’ the trailer shows us the depth of realism the film goes into as it covers her complicated relationship with her partner Blake Fielder-Civil (Jack O’Connell) and her father Mitch Winehouse (Eddie Marsan), as well as her rise in the music industry.

Reportedly made with the blessing of family members, Back to Black will provide a never-before-seen look into Amy’s early life and rise to fame. The film follows her as she writes and records her groundbreaking studio album ‘Back to Black.’
The official synopsis for the film reads, “A journey that took her from the craziness and colour of ’90s Camden High Street to global adoration – and back again, Back to Black crashes through the looking glass of celebrity to watch this journey from behind the mirror, to see what Amy saw, to feel what she felt.”
“Told from Amy’s perspective, the film is an unapologetic look at the woman behind the phenomenon and the relationship that inspired one of the most legendary albums of all time.”
