‘Bad Monkey’ Season 2 Vince Vaughn Drops New Update on Apple TV+ Show

Vince Vaughn breaks silence on ‘Bad Monkey’ season 2

Vince Vaughn has just shared exciting news about the next chapter of his Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey, revealing key details about the upcoming second season. The dark comedy, which earned solid praise in its debut season, has now been confirmed for a second round after a slight delay in renewal. Although the season 1 finale aired back in the fall, it took Apple TV+ a couple of months before confirming the green light for more episodes.

In a recent interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Vaughn provided fans with an update on the filming timeline and season plans. According to the actor, Bad Monkey Season 2 will begin shooting this year. While the details are still under wraps, Vaughn shared that the show’s creative team, led by Ted Lasso creator Bill Lawrence, already has a clear direction for the first few episodes. “I think they have the outline for the first four episodes,” Vaughn mentioned. “I don’t want to give away too much because we kind of left it in a great place to see where a lot of different things go, but I think that what Bill has as far as what’s going on is super, super fun and interesting, and a really great next step for the characters.”

Vince Vaughn’s Bad Monkey has quickly become a fan favorite since its debut on Apple TV+ last summer, with its quirky characters and sun-soaked Florida Keys setting providing the perfect backdrop for a mix of comedy and mystery. With Season 2 on the way, Vaughn shared an exciting update on what fans can expect, including hints about the show’s direction, filming locations, and where the story might go from here.

In Season 1, Vaughn plays Andrew Yancy, a down-and-out detective living in the laid-back Florida Keys. His life is upended when a severed arm mysteriously lands on his doorstep—something far more sinister than the tranquil island life he’s accustomed to. Yancy, who had been suspended for an outburst involving his lover’s sketchy husband’s golf cart, is reluctantly pulled back into the detective world. What follows is a chaotic blend of humor, intrigue, and colorful characters, from a honeymooner who accidentally reels in the grisly limb to a Miami forensic pathologist, Rosa Campesino (Natalie Martinez), who becomes involved in the investigation.

Vaughn also spoke about the decision to shoot Season 2 in California, in addition to the original filming location in Florida. With much of the exterior work still tied to the Florida Keys, Vaughn revealed that the interiors and some scenes would be filmed in California. He also highlighted the advantage of working in California, where the state’s talented crew offers the high-quality production values that will elevate the show.

With filming slated to start this year, Bad Monkey fans can expect Season 2 to hit Apple TV+ sometime in 2026. Whether you’re in it for the eccentric characters or the thrilling plot twists, the next chapter of Bad Monkey promises to be an exciting ride.
