Amazon MGM Studios has released a new trailer for Zoë Kravitz’s darkly twisted directorial debut, Blink Twice. The film features Channing Tatum as a tech billionaire who invites women to his secluded private island, where sinister events unfold.
Naomi Ackie stars as Frida, a cocktail waitress who is unexpectedly swept away for a luxurious getaway by Channing Tatum’s ultra-wealthy character, Slater King, in the new trailer for the highly anticipated psychological thriller. Set against a backdrop of sun, sea, and sand, the seemingly idyllic vacation quickly turns ominous as Frida encounters increasingly disturbing and suspicious behavior from her enigmatic host.
In the trailer, the tension escalates as our increasingly anxious protagonist uncovers a hidden secret: a locked cupboard containing a mysterious box of polaroid photographs. As she carefully opens the box, the disturbing images inside hint at a web of deception and danger.
The official synopsis for Blink Twice reads: “When tech billionaire Slater King (Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone’s having a great time. No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. There is something wrong with this place. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.”
Alongside Tatum and Ackie the cast includes Alia Shawkat, Christian Slater, Kyle MacLachlan, Adria Arjona, Geena Davis, Levon Hawke and Haley Joel Osment.
Blink Twice is Directed and Co-Written by Zoe Kravitz in what marks her directional debut, the film will be released in theaters August 23.
