HBO dropped their first official teaser trailer for Season 2 of hit show House of the Dragon. The next installment of House Targaryen drama will be arriving next Summer 2024.
The series is set two centuries before the events of the iconic series Game of Thrones, set in the fictional world of Westeros, the show explores the history of House Targaryen, a family known for their dragons, unique silver hair & forging the Iron Throne. The narrative spans several generations, delving into the political intrigue, power struggles, and familial conflicts that shaped the Targaryen dynasty.
The trailer opens with Otto Hightower saying, “errors were made in the hours following King Viserys’ death.” Setting up a glimpse of the warfare that’s to come in season two. “The war will be fought, many will die, and the victor will eventually ascend the throne,” says Alicent.
We see Daemon Targaryen suit up in impressive armor, soldiers burning alive and a warning of devastation from Rhaenys Targaryen “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin and no war so bloody as a war between dragons.”
The returning cast includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham.
House of the Dragon is based on Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel. Season 2 consists of 8 episodes and will debut Summer 2024.
