Netflix’s The Perfect Couple, could well be mistaken for a new season of Big Little Lies with its picturesque coastal backdrop, a mysterious corpse, a flurry of police interrogations, and Nicole Kidman. The highly anticipated limited series featuring a star-studded cast has just dropped its full trailer, tantalizing viewers with its dramatic blend of luxury and intrigue, right before its premiere on September 5.
The six-part series is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s acclaimed murder mystery set in the opulent world of Nantucket’s elite, where wealth and perfection seem synonymous. It promises intrigue and suspense against the backdrop of a lavish wedding.
In Nantucket Harbor, the idyllic scene of a wedding takes a chilling turn when a lifeless body surfaces before the ceremony begins. As suspicions mount over the mysterious circumstances of the death, the once-celebratory atmosphere gives way to a tense investigation.
The new trailer opens with the line, “They’re rich, kill someone and get away with it rich.” Among the wedding guests under suspicion, Nicole Kidman’s character, Greer Garrison Winbury—the groom’s mother—finds herself in the spotlight of a police investigation. However, the idyllic atmosphere is shattered when the body washes up on the beach, abruptly turning their Champagne dreams into a haze of suspicion.
The Perfect Couple is a limited series, premiering September 5 on Netflix, alongside, Kidman and Hewson there is a stacked cast that includes Dakota Fanning, Ishaan Khatter, Jack Reynor, Meghann Fahy, and Billy Howle.
