After nearly a decade of Demogorgons, nosebleeds, and supernatural chaos, Stranger Things is nearing its swan song. Netflix has officially outlined the rollout for its fifth and final season — and it’s going big. The streamer announced during its TUDUM global fan event that the last chapter will be split into three parts. Volume 1, consisting of four episodes, premieres on November 26. Volume 2 follows with three more episodes on Christmas Day. The series will conclude with a single-episode finale on New Year’s Eve.
The announcement came with a teaser trailer, though it’s more of a nostalgic highlight reel than a dive into fresh material. That said, the teaser doesn’t hold back on emotion or spectacle. As the montage flashes back through seasons past, longtime fans are reminded of just how far the cast — and the story — have come since 2016.

When the teaser shifts gears into new footage, there’s no mistaking the stakes. Set in the fall of 1987, over a year after the catastrophic events that closed Season 4, the story appears to pick up mid-crisis. Viewers catch glimpses of Joyce (Winona Ryder) wielding an axe, Hopper (David Harbour) cradling a bleeding Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), and Will (Noah Schnapp) yelling “Run!” in a tone that suggests something deeply unnatural is about to hit.
Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, and Caleb McLaughlin all made appearances during the TUDUM stream, a sign that Netflix is pulling out all the stops for the final run. With the series finale titled The Rightside Up, fans are already speculating what that could mean for the balance between Hawkins and the shadowy otherworld beneath it.

The Duffer Brothers have remained tight-lipped about the exact plot, but if this final stretch follows the trajectory of past seasons, expect emotionally charged fare, gut-punch twists, and high-concept horror wrapped in ‘80s nostalgia.
The countdown has officially begun. Three drop dates, one final journey. After all these years, it’s time to say goodbye — but not without going out with a bang. Check out the first teaser below.
