Amazon Prime Video is expanding the universe of its hit show The Boys with a new spin-off titled Vought Rising. This prequel series, set in 1950s New York City, will focus on the sinister, anti-aging Supes, Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
At yesterday’s San Diego Comic Con, it was announced by Deadline that Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will be reprising their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront in a major new prequel series.

The Boys executive producer Paul Grellong will take on the roles of EP and showrunner for Vought Rising, with franchise creator Eric Kripke overseeing production and development. The show promises to explore the origins of Frederick Vought’s groundbreaking creations: Soldier Boy, the first non-aging American superhero, and Stormfront, his first successful Compound V test subject. In a statement accompanying the announcement of Vought Rising, Grellong and Kripke hinted at what viewers can expect from the new series.
We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys, it’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.

Fans of The Boys are already familiar with Homelander’s father, Soldier Boy, created by Frederick Vought during World War II, and the backstory of Stormfront. In 1952, the duo founded Herogasm, an infamous annual orgy. This notorious event is likely to be featured in the new prequel series. During that period, Stormfront was known as Liberty. She had relocated to the United States from Germany with her husband, Frederick Vought, after becoming his first successful Compound V test subject.
The return of Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash to The Boys universe signals a strong commitment from Eric Kripke and the team to expand and solidify the franchise’s presence. This move assures fans that The Boys universe is here to stay. Additionally, the second season of the chaotic college spin-off, Gen V, was confirmed at Comic Con and is set to premiere in 2025.
Seasons 1–4 of The Boys are now available for streaming on Prime Video.
