Vincent D’Onofrio, star of the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again, teases that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to venture into even darker territory. As anticipation for the series builds, D’Onofrio, who reprises his role as the Kingpin, teases that the show will deliver more violence than its predecessor. This reboot is one of Disney’s most highly awaited projects, continuing the story from where Netflix’s original series left off.
With concerns among fans that Disney might soften the show’s edge, D’Onofrio reassures viewers that ‘Born Again’ will push the boundaries further. According to the actor, the series is set to explore even darker themes and more intense violence, staying true to the gritty nature of the original while expanding its narrative depth.
In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes (below) alongside his ‘Born Again’ castmates, D’Onofrio was asked if the new series would push the limits when it premieres on Disney+ next year. D’Onofrio confidently stated that ‘Born Again’ will ramp up the violence, asserting that the show will be more intense than ever before.
There are some things in this show that we go much further with than we did on the original show. There’s one thing in particular that my character does that I can’t believe made it into the cut.

Anticipation for ‘Born Again’ soared after Disney’s D23 Expo this past weekend. The event also brought exciting updates about the series’ future, including confirmation that ‘Born Again’ has been renewed for a second season, with production on Season 2 set to commence shortly.
Before Disney+ entered the streaming scene, Netflix produced three successful seasons of ‘Daredevil.’ The series centers on Matt Murdock, a blind attorney who becomes the vigilante superhero Daredevil by night. Set in the tough and gritty Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, the show delves into Murdock’s challenge of juggling his legal profession with his mission to combat crime and corruption throughout the city.
‘Born Again’ will bring back familiar faces including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. This was confirmed earlier in the year when set photos were released.
We’ll keep you informed about any new updates on Daredevil: Born Again as the series approaches its release window in March 2025. In the meantime, you can catch the original three seasons on Disney+.
