The latest film from screenwriter Lorcan Reilly and director Alberto Corredor’s, Baghead, is an hauntingly atmospheric chiller. And it now has the chance to reach a wider audience as it premieres on Netflix UK today.
Baghead follows Iris (Freya Allan), a young woman estranged from her widower father (Peter Mullan), is shocked to discover she has inherited his eerie old pub after his death. This pub harbors a 400-year-old devil, known as “Baghead,” locked in the basement with her face covered by an old sack.

Baghead can summon any dead person for a two-minute conversation, but exceeding this time releases the spirit permanently into the living world. Neil (Jeremy Irvine), an intense and desperate young man, arrives at the pub with fistfuls of cash, yearning for one last conversation with his deceased wife. However, things take a disastrous turn.
Screenwriters Christina Pamies and Bryce McGuire (known for Night Swim) skillfully build on Alberto Corredor’s award-winning 2017 short film. The film features some intriguing elements, and a few solid scares.

Horror enthusiasts however might find it bears a striking resemblance to the more recent and superior Australian movie Talk to Me. However, it’s worth noting that Talk to Me was produced after Corredor’s original 2017 short, which shares a similar premise.
Baghead is now available for streaming on Netflix in the UK, offering subscribers the opportunity to dive into the eerie tale.
